Oh JOY!!

It was Saturday morning and I could see the sun up in the sky behind all the nasty smog. I couldn't find our kitty, the house was a mess and I said to myself, "I hate winter"... Then I had the thought, "do I dare to take BOTH kids skiing"?? Up until now I have taken one at a time, (unless I have my Dad to help) and it helps me stay a little calmer. I am a huge worrier, so if I can't see both kids all the time I get frantic. Tally and I had a talk about waiting and always looking to see me since I was going to be helping Holden and I wouldn't be able to keep my eye on him. He did wonderful and was always waiting and yelling to tell me where he was. What was I so worried about??? We had a heavenly time together up out of the nasty air and in the sunshine. We pigged out on chicken fingers and fries, skittles, and hot chocolate.. It was lovely~!!!

Holden was beyond tired after a few hours and Tal was not satisfied with the amount of skiing we did, so Holdy and I found a sunny spot and watched Tal take a few runs by himself. I can't believe how big my boy is getting. You always hear older people say, "enjoy them (little kids) while they last". Time flies and sometimes I get a little teary about it...

Nutcracker

Tally learned about the Nutcracker in school, and since I have never seen it myself, I bought the two of us tickets. I had a few people warn me that Tally was probably too young and would get bored, but I thought he would be fine since he knew the story. Well... he was more than fine. He enjoyed it and told me who was who and what was going on. I was the one that grew a little bored toward the end. Before the ballet started, Tally and I had fun roaming around downtown SLC stuffing ourselves with every sweet treat we could find. We started with smoothies, then caramel apples, a cookie or two or three, then life savors. It was disgusting! I will always remember this special time with my little man talking and laughing and eating. He is a special little person for sure!

The boys had so much fun making there own pizzas and I thought it would be so great because then they would eat them up... I've heard, "just let your kids help with the cooking and they will eat better/more" etc. But, they just nibbled. Actually, I do have to say that Tally is eating like a horse lately. Just not the pizza. We went out to eat the other day and Tal ordered an adult size plate of crepes, sausage, eggs and hashbrowns. He ate the whole thing as I stared at him in amazement, then unaware that I was watching him he sighed, smiled and patted his belly.
